Cuban Breeze Cocktail: Sweet Tropical Amaretto & Vodka Recipe

The Cuban Breeze cocktail recipe is a refreshing tropical drink that combines the nutty warmth of amaretto with the crispness of vodka and the fruity sweetness of pineapple.

While it’s a modern cocktail rather than a historic Cuban recipe, it draws inspiration from the tropical flavors popular in Caribbean-inspired drinks. Like my frozen strawberry daiquiri, and Hotel Riley Rum cocktail, this cocktail evokes a sense of paradise with its vibrant flavors, exotic aroma, and refreshing ingredients.

This amaretto cocktail recipe is perfect for summer parties, beach gatherings, and any occasion where you want the feel of a tropical escape.

Easy to make, full of flavor, and a crowd-pleaser, it will transport you straight to the tropics with every sip.

Ingredients for this Cuban Breeze drink

Are you longing for the feeling of a tropical getaway that you hope to take this summer? Don’t wait to enjoy that feeling!

The Cuban Breeze recipe is the perfect way to get in a vacation mood. You’ll need these ingredients to make this tropical drink.

Fresh pineapple, pineapple juice, amaretto, and vodka on a counter top.

  • 2 oz amaretto (I used Basilica, but Disaronno or any good quality amaretto brand works well.)
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 6 oz pineapple juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Pineapple chunks to garnish

How to make the Cuban Breeze cocktail

The result is a refreshing and balanced drink that is both easy to make and delightful to savor.

Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour the vodka and amaretto over the ice. Top the drink with pineapple juice.

Garnishing the tropical cocktail drink

Any tropical drink tastes (and looks) better with a good garnish. Like the drink, the garnish for this drink is easy, too!

Use a sharp knife to cut off the top of a pineapple. Cut a triangular wedge.

Use the tip of the knife to make a slice in the triangle so the triangle garnish will sit on the glass when the drink is served.

Pair this delightful cocktail with my Cuban steaks in a mojo marinade for a culinary experience that complements the tropical essence of the drink.

Mocktail version of the Cuban Breeze drink

For your party guests who prefer a non-alcoholic option, the Cuban Breeze can easily be made into a mocktail.

To do this, combine pineapple juice with a splash of almond syrup (or orgeat) over ice, then top with sparkling water for a light, fizzy finish.

Garnish with a pineapple wedge.
