Cinco de Mayo Progressive Dinner Party

One of my favorite things to do with my fiends when we entertain is to have a progressive dinner party.  We go from one house to the next, with each friend contributing something to the dinner party menu.

My blogging friends and I decided to have a Cinco de Mayo progressive dinner party online this time! Instead of moving from house to house, we plan to move from blog to blog to showcase each great recipe.

With this traditional Mexican holiday in a few days, this is the perfect way to celebrate the occasion.

A progressive dinner party works best when the friends all live on the same street. (no drinking and driving is needed!) But online we don’t have to worry about this and can really enjoy ourselves! Liven up your Cinco de Mayo progressive dinner party with these delicious Recipes.

To start the progressive dinner party, we are going to Carol’s house at Always The Holidays for a Michelada cocktail.

These are the Mexican version of the bloody Mary and complement the appetizer course beautifully.  They have a bit of heat to them and will get the party started in just the right mood!Michelada cocktail starts the Cinco de Mayo progressive dinner party from alwaystheholidays.com

Once we have a bit of liquid refreshment under our belts, we will head to The Gardening Cook for the appetizer course.  Tonight’s recipe features these spicy bacon wrapped chicken bites.

My husband is a major heat lover in his food.  He loves really spicy foods of all types, and there is not a hot sauce that he doesn’t think belongs in any recipe.

I, on the other hand, am not so crazy about the heat.

I like a bit of spice, but not as much as he does.  So, finding the perfect recipe to satisfy us both is sometimes a bit of a challenge for me.

But that is not the case with these spicy bacon wrapped chicken appetizers.

This recipe is spicy…don’t get me wrong. But the creaminess of the cream cheese and the crispy bacon wrapping on the outside all combine to make just the perfect bite.

They are a wonderful appetizer to start your party off in style.

They are great for any gathering, from The Superbowl playoffs to this Cinco de Mayo progressive dinner party.  Get the recipe for these bacon wrapped chicken appetizers here.

Now that our taste buds know that spice is the name of the game, we will head on over to Terri’s house at Our Good Life.

Terri has some easy enchiladas on the menu for us.  Enchiladas are one of my favorite choices whenever we eat out at a Mexican restaurant, so I can’t wait to dig into these!

Time to head to my daughter Jess’ house at Jess Explains it All for a second main course!

Jess has some super easy chicken fajitas. I just KNEW she would choose these, since she and my husband always order chicken fajitas when we eat out together. And these look A-MAZ-ING!

It is now time to end the evening by treating our sweet tooth.  Teri at The Freshman Cook is serving Tres Leche Cake  Tres leche means three milk.

Now THAT is a cake that just has to taste great. What a perfect way to end our Cinco de Mayo progressive dinner party!

You can find Teri’s recipe here.

So sorry I misunderstood about adding in your daughter. Her dish looks amazing! I had a great time with this and learned a lot!

There was no need for you to add her Terri. I was just doing it for her. Heather added her and that was nice but I didn't expect any one to. I just want to help Jess with traffic if I can.
