Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites Recipe – Spicy Chicken Appetizers

This spicy bacon wrapped chicken bites recipe is perfect for Cinco de Mayo!

My husband is a heat freak. He loves really spicy foods of all types and he believes hot sauce belongs in every recipe.

Me…not so much. I like a bit of heat but not as much as he does. So, finding the perfect recipe to satisfy us both is sometimes a bit of a task for me. This delicious spicy chicken appetizer recipe does the job nicely.

Liven up your party table with this bacon wrapped chicken bites recipe

This recipe is spicy…don’t get me wrong. But the creaminess of the cream cheese and the bacon wrapping on the outside all combines to make just the perfect bite.

They are a wonderful appetizer to start your party off in style.

To make these chicken bites wrapped in bacon, assemble your ingredients.  You will need these items:

  • 8 chicken tenders
  • 3 ounces of cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of green hot sauce
  • 16 slices of bacon
  • cocktail toothpicks

Start by flattening your chicken tenders with a meat tenderizer. Don’t pound too hard.

They need to be able to be moved and don’t want to be too thin.Flattened chicken tenders on a white plate with a meat tenderizer.

Once the chicken is flattened, cut each piece in half. Lay out your bacon and top each piece of bacon with a chicken piece.

Add bits of the cream cheese on top of the chicken and then drizzle with the green hot sauce.  Chicken tender strips with cream cheese, bacon and hot sauce.

Roll up the chicken/bacon pieces and secure with a toothpick and place them in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.  The bacon chicken bites are ready to cook!

These just look fabulous! They're a nice variation on one of my old standbys: halved jalapeno shells filled with cream cheese and wrapped with bacon, on the grill. This is a keeper, thanks!
