These spicy bacon wrapped chicken appetizers. are perfect for Cinco de Mayo!
My husband is a heat freak. He loves really spicy foods of all types and there is not a hot sauce that he doesn’t think belongs in any recipe.
Me…not so much. I like a bit of heat but not as much as he does. So, finding the perfect recipe to satisfy us both is sometimes a bit of a task for me.
This delicious appetizer recipe will get the party going in style. They are also a fun choice to add to antipasti. (See my tips for making an antipasto platter here.)
Liven up your party table with some Spicy bacon wrapped chicken appetizers.
This recipe is spicy…don’t get me wrong. But the creaminess of the cream cheese and the bacon wrapping on the outside all combines to make just the perfect bite. They are a wonderful appetizer to start your party off in style.
To make this recipe, assemble your ingredients. You will need these items:
- 8 chicken tenders
- 3 ounces of cream cheese
- 2 tbsp of green hot sauce
- 16 slices of bacon
- cocktail toothpicks
Start by flattening your chicken tenders with a meat tenderizer. Don’t pound too hard. They need to be able to be moved and don’t want to be too thin.
Once the chicken is flattened, cut each piece in half. Lay out your bacon and top each piece of bacon with a chicken piece.
Add bits of the cream cheese on top of the chicken and then drizzle with the green hot sauce.
Roll up the chicken/bacon pieces and secure with a toothpick and place them in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.

These just look fabulous! They're a nice variation on one of my old standbys: halved jalapeno shells filled with cream cheese and wrapped with bacon, on the grill. This is a keeper, thanks!
