My husband is a heat freak. He loves really spicy foods of all types and there is not a hot sauce that he doesn’t think belongs in any recipe. Me…not so much. I like a bit of heat but not as much as he does. So, finding the perfect recipe to satisfy us both is sometimes a bit of a task for me. Not so with these spicy bacon wrapped chicken appetizers.
Liven up your party table with some Spicy bacon wrapped chicken appetizers.
This recipe is spicy…don’t get me wrong. But the creaminess of the cream cheese and the bacon wrapping on the outside all combines to make just the perfect bite. They are a wonderful appetizer to start your party off in style.
To make this recipe, assemble your ingredients. You will need these items:
- 8 chicken tenders
- 3 ounces of cream cheese
- 2 tbsp of Yucateco green hot sauce
- 16 slices of bacon
- cocktail toothpicks
Start by flattening your chicken tenders with a meat tenderizer. Don’t pound too hard. They need to be able to be moved and don’t want to be too thin.
Once the chicken is flattened, cut each piece in half. Lay out your bacon and top each piece of bacon with a chicken piece. Add bits of the cream cheese on top of the chicken and then drizzle with the green hot sauce.
Roll up the chicken/bacon pieces and secure with a toothpick and place them in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
These spicy bacon wrapped chicken appetizers and creamy and spicy and the perfect bit. They are great for any party, from The Superbowl playoffs to Cinco de Mayo celebrations.
Pair the appetizers with a Michelada cocktail (Mexican bloody Mary) for a great spicy party combo! Olé
The cocktail is spicy and has quite a kick to it. It is perfect when served with the bacon wrapped chicken appetizers. This bacon wrapped chicken appetizer is featured in a Cinco de Mayo Progressive dinner party with my blogging friends. See the other recipes here.
