Tequila Pineapple Cocktail with Basil – Veracruzana – Fruity Summer Drink

The Veracruzana cocktail is my featured drink of the day. If you are looking for a cocktail with a tropical feel to it, try this one! This tequila pineapple cocktail has a wonderful flavor.

Hello summer time and its long and warm evenings!  These days are perfect for refreshing and fruity cocktail recipes like this summer time cocktail. The drink tastes something like a pineapple basil margarita.

The list of ingredients in it is a reminder of everything we love to help us unwind on a sizzling summer day, and also gives me a chance to use some of my summer basil herb.

I’ve been experimenting with Patron tequila for the last few weeks and love the smoothness of it in drinks like this. Patron and pineapple are such a delightful combination!

The Veracruzana cocktail uses Patron tequila, fresh pineapple, fresh basil, and agave nectar for a refreshing drink to enjoy with friends.

The cocktail pays honor to Mexico’s oldest and largest port – Veracruz, which is also the home of the sweet Veracruz pineapple.

Veracruzana - Tequila Pineapple Cocktail with Basil

This Veracruzana Cocktail is my drink of the day. The list of ingredients in it is a reminder of everything we love to help us unwind on a sizzling summer day.

Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Patron Tequila
  • 3/4 ounces Agave Nectar
  • 1 ounce Fresh Lime Juice
  • Slice of pineapple to garnish
  • 2 Basil Leaves plus more to garnish

Instructions

  1. Muddle pineapple and basil leaves in a glass.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and shake vigorously with ice until well blended.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice and garnish with a chunk of pineapple and a sprig basil
  4. Enjoy!

There are a few things that will work: honey, maple syrup, simple syrup, brown rice syrup and light corn syrup. .

This looks awesome! But you don't add anything else to fill the glass up - club soda? pineapple juice?
