August 31 is National Trail mix day.  Time to make everyone’s favorite party snack.

Trail mixes are easy to find in the stores, but they are also super easy to make and you can put them together to suit your individual tastes, so I like to come up with my own recipes.

Our family is very fond of trail mixes.  They are a good way to satisfy you sweet tooth and also give you an extra boost of energy.

Adding some nutritious ingredients to a few sweet treats also means that you know you are giving your kids something that is nutritious to snack on instead of a full out sugary snack.

Treat your family to this delicious S’mores Trail mix.

Each time I make a new trail mix recipe, I try to incorporate a few ingredients that I have not used in the past.  It makes snacking fun and I can even use flavors to tie in with seasons.

Since late summer is the time for camping, I thought a twist on the fun time camping snack – S’mores – was in order.

This S’mores trail mix is the perfect snack to make the kids feel as though the summer is still with us, even though it is back to school time.
