Cleaning a Microwave with Lemons – Using a Lemon to Clean a Microwave

Cleaning a microwave with lemons in minutes is easy. All you need are cut lemons and a bowl of hot water. A few minutes on high and you won’t be ashamed to open your microwave door any longer!

I use my microwave all the time, so it does tend to get dirty and discolored, particularly on the turntable and ceiling of the device.

There are lots of products that will clean it but did you know that it is super easy to clean a microwave with lemons in just minutes?

Cleaning a Microwave with lemons in just Minutes, the easy way.

To clean a microwave easily, you will need just two things:

• glass measuring cup, half filled with water
• one good sized lemon, cut in half.

Start by filling a glass bowl or measuring cup with warm water.  Squeeze a good sized cut lemon into it. It’s fine if the seeds fall to the bottom.  Drop the cut lemons in too.Place the glass jar in the microwave in the center of the carousel.  My microwave had grime around the edges and in the corners, as well as the inside of the glass door.  The turntable also had grease on it.Close the door and turn on the microwave and heat the lemon/water for 3 minutes on high.  After doing this, many of the stains were gone, even without scrubbing.Use a damp sponge and wipe the sides and edges.  I did not have to scrub, but I did remove the turn table and wiped under it.  It is so much cleaner now.I can’t get over how easy this was.  And I love that the top above the lemon water got cleaned without me having to scrub.  This also makes the microwave smell nice too.
