I have to admit, I am enjoying being a kid this holiday season.  I’ve been crafting up a storm of fun and whimsical Christmas decorations.
This Santa Paint Brush Ornament is whimsical and fun to make and will look cute on a Christmas tree or as a wall hanging.I think I must need a grandchild or something.  Or maybe I am just missing my grown baby girl.  Whatever the reason, this cute Santa Claus Paintbrush Decoration is my latest fun creation.

I always spend a great part of this time of the year doing crafts and projects.

The weather has made it so that gardening is not in the cards and, although I LOVE to cook festive sweet treats, my hips keep telling me that crafting is better for my waistline!

I went to the Dollar Store the other day to make sure that my craft supplies are topped up. Then when an idea hits me, I will know that I have everyone I need on hand to finish the project without having to make a shopping trip.

Three paintbrushes ended up in my shopping cart and all three have now been made into cute ornaments. (see the Grinch ornament here, and my cute Snowman ornament can be found here.)

Note: Hot glue guns, and heated glue can burn. Please use extreme caution when using a hot glue gun. Learn to use your tool properly before you start any project.

And now it’s time to make a Santa Paint Brush Ornament.

To make the Santa Paint Brush Ornament you will need the following supplies:  (This post contains affiliate links for your crafting experience.)

  • a ]2″ paintbrush
  • Red, white, black and orange acrylic craft paint
  • 5 – 1/2″ white pom poms
  • 1 – 1/2″ red pom pom
  • Small wooden Christmas package hanging (I got four of these at Walmart in the mini ornament section.)
  • thin green ribbon
  • Small piece of polyester batting
  • Snowflake sticker and piece of a silk poinsettia flower
  • 1/2″ Christmas Ribbon
  • white felt
  • Hot glue gun and [hot glue sticks
  • Paintbrushes

Paint the shank of the paintbrush red and the metal part and bristles white.

The first step in making the Santa paint brush ornament it so start by painting the shank of the paintbrush red and the metal part and bristles white with acrylic craft paints.Use polyester fiberfill and a green ribbon to make a hat brim

When the paint has dried, combine the orange and white paint to paint on a face shape on the metal shank.

Let this dry and then wrap the top of the paintbrush head with some polyester batting and then wrap this with a piece of thin green ribbon.

Decorate the hat top with pom poms and a cute wooden Jingle hanger. Festive Christmas ribbon adds a hanger.

Hot glue five white pom poms on the shank of the paintbrush.  Thread the 1/2″ ribbon through the hole to act as a hanger and add the wooden package hanging at the top of the paintbrush.Finish the hat with a snowflake and bell and add whiskers and a red nose.

Paint a face on the head of the Santa and allow it to dry.  I cut out a piece of a silk red poinsettia flower into a star shape and added a white glitter snowflake sticker and small red plastic berry to the hat to decorate.

The final step was to cut a piece of the white felt into a whisker shape, and glue it below the fame and then add a red pom pom to finish.

Hi Linda. Having my only daughter so far away is very hard. We keep in touch a lot but it's not the same as having her nearby. Carol
